On May 30, 2022, President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta welcomed visiting President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio, and his spouse Fatima Maada Bio to State House, Nairobi.
The elaborate state reception ceremony included a Guard of Honour mounted by a detachment of the Kenya Air Force and a 21-Gun Salute.
President Julius Maada Bio is in the country on a State Visit during which he will be the Chief Guest at this year's Madaraka Day national celebrations at Uhuru Gardens.
During his five-day State visit, seven Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at further enhancing relations between the two countries will be signed.
