As Kenya prepares for its most expensive general election in Africa, Yangkey Printers has stepped in to support young politicians under the age of 35. The company, known for its campaign and promotional printing services, is offering a 30% discount on all political branding materials to candidates under 35.
Yangkey Printers is also providing free calendars, banners, and delivery countrywide, as well as extra merchandise for young politicians. The company's CEO, Douglas Magwata, explained that the decision to offer these discounts and free materials was made to ease the financial burden on young candidates and encourage more youth to run for political offices.
“Kenya is set to hold the most expensive general election in Africa. This means that the majority of young aspirants will be unable to contest due to the huge finances involved,” Magwata said.
Yangkey Printers is also committed to sustainability, with a plan to buy back and recycle unused merchandise at the end of the campaign period. The company has also set up a team to remove posters from walls for free, using machines that can remove paints from t-shirts and caps.
“I admit that politics is a costly affair. But we are committed to demystify the idea that politics is a preserve of the rich, so that more youths can be at the helm of leadership,” Magwata added.
Young politicians under 35 can reach out to Yangkey Printers through their website, www.yangkeyprint.com, or on social media.
