On Sunday night, a tragic road accident claimed the life of Rabai lawmaker William Kamoti along the Mombasa-Malindi highway in Kilifi town.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has expressed his condolences to the family and constituents of the late MP, describing him as a top legal mind and a progressive leader who represented the people of Rabai Constituency with great distinction.

"It is very unfortunate and painful that we’ve suddenly lost Mheshimiwa William Kamoti, a progressive and astute leader," the President mourned.

He added that Kamoti leaves behind a strong legacy of development and public service, particularly in education, where he initiated several schools in his constituency.

"To the family of Mheshimiwa Kamoti, his friends, relatives, and the people of Rabai Constituency, may God the Almighty comfort you all at this difficult period of mourning your kin and leader," the President said.

Other leaders, including National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi and Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, have also eulogized Kamoti as a leader who prioritized the lives of residents and represented the great people of Rabai constituency zealously.
