Wajackoyah and Nyambane to Face IEBC in Presidential Registration

On May 29, 2022, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) began the registration of 16 shortlisted presidential aspirants at the Bomas of Kenya.

Roots Party leader Professor George Wajackoyah and Umoja Summit Party's Walter Mong'are alias Nyambane are among the aspirants expected to appear before the IEBC on Monday, June 6, 2022.

According to IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati, the registration exercise will end on Monday, June 6, 2022, and upon registration, candidates are obligated to adhere to the Electoral Code of Conduct.

Other aspirants enlisted for the registration include Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Kenya Kwanza alliance presidential aspirant William Ruto, and Agano Party leader David Mwaure, who will be registered on June 4, 2022.

On June 5, 2022, Azimio la Umoja one Kenya Coalition presidential aspirant Raila Odinga, Third Way Alliance leader Ekuru Aukot, and independent candidate George Munyottah will be registered.

IEBC turned away presidential aspirant Peter Kingori and his running mate on Sunday for lack of necessary documentation required to run for the August polls.
