On May 30, 2022, leaders affiliated to the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition dismissed claims by Deputy President William Ruto of a plot to rig the forthcoming presidential election in favor of the Azimio flag bearer Raila Odinga.
According to reports from Bungoma County, the leaders instead accused DP Ruto of misleading the electorate and challenged him to be ready to concede defeat if he loses the election.
DP Ruto had previously claimed that there was a plot to rig the election in favor of Raila Odinga, but the Azimio leaders have denied these allegations.
They have instead called on DP Ruto to focus on his campaign and not engage in baseless accusations.
