President Uhuru Kenyatta's campaign in Mt Kenya is facing a stiff challenge from Deputy President William Ruto's wave, prompting deep state operatives to take drastic measures.

According to sources within government, the group has been holding meetings at a Nairobi hotel on Thika Road, with Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and heads of state corporations in attendance.

The meetings, which have been held twice, aim to counter the narrative that President Kenyatta has lost grip on the Mt Kenya region due to lack of development.

However, the plan has hit a snag, with some participants feeling threatened and others questioning the leadership role of one of the Cabinet Secretaries.

A showdown is also looming in Parliament, where a section of President Kenyatta's allies are pushing for the removal of Ruto's lieutenants from leadership positions.

The lawmakers have accused Ruto's men of secretly scheming to frustrate the President's agenda in Parliament, which could deal his legacy plan a significant blow.

President Kenyatta's men have insisted that his legacy could go up in smoke if the Tangatanga team is not tamed in Parliament.
