Anglican Bishop Liverson Mng'onda has called on Kenyans to elect leaders with the necessary skills to address the country's economic challenges.
During a pastoral visit at ACK St. Monica in Voi, where he consecrated a new church building, Bishop Mng'onda emphasized the importance of electing competent leaders to fix the economic turmoil facing the country.
He drew an analogy between a patient in the hands of an incompetent doctor and the country's situation, warning that failure to elect the right leaders could lead to the country's collapse.
"Our country is ailing, so is our county and even constituencies and wards. It is upon all of us to take make sure we get the right people to fix this," Mng'onda said.
He also appealed to leaders to be mindful of the plight of the people they lead and to make good on their promises.
The consecration service was attended by a host of local leaders, including former Taita Taveta Governor John Mruttu.
