National Bank of Kenya Hands Over 80 Buses to MetroTrans Limited

On May 29, 2022, National Bank of Kenya (NBK) handed over 80 buses to MetroTrans Limited, a public transport company, in a purchase arrangement financed by the bank's Asset Based Finance Product.

The partnership between NBK and Simba Corporation Limited enables customers to get up to 90 percent financing payable within 60 months, with an option of Ksh300,000 working capital. Additionally, customers can receive competitive insurance offerings for their acquisitions through NBK's insurance subsidiary, NBK Insurance Agency.

Speaking during the event, NBK Retail Banking Director Carol Rutto noted that the handover of the buses lends credence to the bank's desire to support key economic enablers, especially in the transport industry.

"We are delighted to finally handover the buses that will ultimately transform the travel experience of commuters along the routes that Metro Trans operates. It is also a testament to our desire to continue availing convenient products to our clients across various market segments," Ms Rutto said.

According to Metro Trans Limited Director, Mr Oscar Omurwa Rosana, the company is grateful to NBK for the support, which will go a long way in modernizing their fleet and growing their margins adequately.

Simba Corp Motors MD Naresh Leekh emphasized the importance of comfort in buses, stating that Fuso is geared towards providing comfort to passengers.

"When it comes to buses, comfort is key when moving from point A to B. With this partnership we offer all passengers comfort in traveling, with enough legroom, aeration, seatbelts, and better driving comfort for the driver," he said.
