Joshua Oigara's decision to leave his position as CEO of KCB Bank Group has left many in shock, especially considering his substantial salary.
As one of the best-paid CEOs in Kenya, Oigara's annual pay was a staggering Sh. 368.5 million in the 2021 financial year, a 217% jump from the previous year.
His basic salary remained at Sh. 76.4 million, but he received a Sh. 241.1 million bonus for guiding the bank to a net profit jump of 74% to Sh. 34.2 billion.
Additionally, his non-cash benefits, including medical insurance cover and club membership, rose from Sh. 300,000 to Sh. 1.6 million.
