As the August polls draw near, Kandara Member of Parliament Alice Wahome has urged political leaders allied to Kenya Kwanza to put aside self-interests and focus on enhancing their campaigns.
Speaking in Murang'a on May 29, 2022, Wahome emphasized that parties affiliated to the Kenya Kwanza Alliance should not complain about why the coalition's flag bearer is not campaigning for their parties, citing Deputy President William Ruto's neutrality in the matter.
Wahome's comments come after a section of parties affiliated to Kenya Kwanza raised concerns over why Deputy President Ruto was conducting campaigns under the United Democratic Party.
Instead of dwelling on these concerns, Wahome urged the leaders to focus on ensuring the Kenya Kwanza Alliance carries the presidential win in the August polls.
Meanwhile, a section of aspirants in Makueni county under the United Democratic Alliance have urged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to ensure a free, fair, and credible election come August 9th.
