Kenya Sevens team's poor performance at the World Rugby Seven Series continued in London, where they suffered two defeats that knocked them out of the Main Cup quarterfinals on May 29, 2022.

Shujaa lost their opening Group B match to Ireland 17-14, before their fate was sealed by current series leaders Argentina who thrashed them 26-0.

Shujaa's head coach Damian McGrath acknowledged that there is still a lot of work to be done to get Kenya back to where it belongs.

"We have been giving away cheap possession and dropping the ball a lot and first we need to work on retaining our possession. It is still a long way to go and work in progress," McGrath said.

Locally, Christie Sevens defending champions KCB, Strathmore Leos, Homeboyz, Mwamba, and Kabras Sugar secured Main Cup quarterfinal berths after winning two opening matches in their respective groups on the day one of the second leg of the National Sevens Circuit at RFUEA Ground.
