Blue Ocean Swimmers Shine at Coast Level One Swimming Championship

On a thrilling day of competition, Blue Ocean swimming club swimmers swam like sharks to dominate day one of the Coast level one swimming championship at the Aga Khan Academy in Mombasa on May 28, 2022.

Coached by Mohammed Ahmed, the swimmers shone in most of the junior events, leaving their competitors in their wake. The team's impressive performance has put them on course to winning the overall title when the gala comes to an end on May 29, 2022.

Adil Ahmed of Blue Ocean won the boys 8/9 years 50m freestyle with a time of 42.62, topping the event with seven points. Vihaan Majitia of Bandari swimming club, trained by former Kenyan international Fakry Mansoor, came second with a time of 42.94, while Aariz Noorani of Blue Ocean took third place with a time of 43.09.

Other notable winners included Sami Muses of Coast Academy, who won the boys' five years and under 25m freestyle with a time of 34.05, and Katoo Matovu of Mombasa Parents swimming club, who won the boys 10/11 years 50m freestyle with a time of 37.83.
