On May 29, 2022, the Patron's Cup 2022, a Tier 1 match, took place at the Kirigiti Shooting Range in Kiambu county, attracting over 130 shooters from the disciplined forces and civilians.
The event, hosted by NGAO-Kenya, featured a fun shoot for guests, with notable attendees including Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed, Energy and Petroleum CS Monica Juma, and PS State Department for Industrialization Peter Kaberia.
NGAO-Kenya's patron, Anthony Mwaniki Muchiri, extended an invitation to the high-profile guests, who were treated to a fun shoot experience.
During the event, Muchiri emphasized the need for NGAO-Kenya to be recognized as a federation, allowing it to tap into the Sports Fund.
Responding to Muchiri's request, CS Amina stated that the government has implemented measures to support sports and popularize them, adding that NGAO-Kenya would be officially recognized as a sports federation.
"I declare today's event officially launched. I don't see why you should not be supported by the government. We will do what we can to recognize NGAO-Kenya as a sports federation so that it can get the relevant support it requires from the government," said Amina.
The event saw several winners emerge, including Master Ibrahim Ndungu in SSP, Master Eric Wachira in ESP, and Master Mohammed Omar in CCP. Elias Kavwagi from Mombasa was declared the overall winner in BUG division, while Joel Waroi scooped the Revolver Division High.
The Patron's Madaraka shoot was sponsored by several organizations, including Crown paints, Coca cola, Ann Kananu Foundation, and others.
