On May 28, 2022, a Kenyan took to social media to ask Safaricom a question about sim card replacement, using a new language called Shembeteng.

However, instead of ignoring the question, the Safaricom social media admin responded in the same language, leaving many Kenyans confused and amused.

"Embetende dumbutuka yoyombotote yembetetu na ID yambatako Ray," MZ replied, further adding to the internet's amusement.

While some people made fun of the reply, others argued that it was not professional for the telecommunication giant to use a language many people are struggling to understand.

Reactions to the incident were mixed, with some people expressing their frustration and others finding humor in the situation.
