On Saturday, May 27, 2022, the Christie Sevens tournament kicked off its second leg at RFUEA grounds, with defending champions KCB, Strathmore Leos, Homeboyz, Mwamba, and Kabras Sugar securing main cup quarterfinal berths.
Among the top contenders, KCB, fresh from winning the Kabeberi Sevens circuit, began their second circuit title hunt with a 19-5 victory over Kenya Harlequin, followed by a 33-7 thrashing of JumiaPay Pirates to seal their quarterfinals spot.
Strathmore Leos, meanwhile, went on a scoring spree with huge wins against Blak Blad (34-0) and Impala (36-0) to reach the quarters, while Homeboyz thrashed Catholic Monks 49-10 and saw off Western Bulls 14-12 to progress.
Kabras Sugar maintained their dominance in the 'Rai Derby' after seeing off Menengai Oilers 36-7 and securing a quarterfinal spot with a 14-12 revenge win against Masinde Muliro University, who had defeated them the previous Saturday.
The Christie Sevens continues on Sunday with quarters, semis, and finals lined up.
