On May 28, 2022, Safaricom Investment Co-operative marked a significant milestone in the real estate sector with the launch of The Miran Residence, a Ksh750 million residential development in Ruaka, Kiambu County.

The three-acre urban development, nestled in the Western end of the Nairobi Bypass, boasts modern and sustainable infrastructure and architecture. The project comprises 450 units, including studio apartments, studio lofts, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, priced between Ksh2.75 million and Ksh5.9 million.

According to Safaricom Investment Co-operative CEO Sarah Wahogo, Ruaka's beautiful landscape, cool climate, and proximity to Nairobi CBD make it an ideal location for residents seeking a quality lifestyle. The development includes holistic wellness facilities, a fully equipped gym, a kids' play area, and a jogging track.

With Ruaka solidifying its position as the largest supplier of apartments in satellite towns, accounting for 30 percent of all advertised units, The Miran Residence is poised to meet the growing demand for affordable housing in the area. The project is also in line with the government's Big 4 agenda on Affordable Housing.

Commissioner for Co-operatives David Obonyo hailed Safaricom Investment Co-operative's efforts in uplifting the lives of its members, stating that co-operatives have played a crucial role in the country's economy by offering desirable investment solutions. The launch of The Miran Residence is a testament to the resilience of co-operatives during the Covid-19 pandemic.
