On May 26, 2022, Prophet David Owuor, a self-declared Kenyan messiah, and his congregation made headlines by booking an entire Kenya Airways flight to Angola for a crusade.
According to banners circulating online, the Ministry of Holiness and Repentance was set to minister in Angola's capital, Luanda. The following day, Owuor and his crew were scheduled to visit a pastor's convention.
Photos uploaded online showed Owuor posing with KQ staff near a plane on the runway, looking handsome in a yellow suit and black trousers. He was also photographed getting on the plane on a red carpet, with church members, including a uniformed police officer, in attendance.
Inside the plane, church members, with the women wearing head coverings and donning long dresses, filled all the seats. A church-affiliated radio station tweeted, "Welcome to the massive Angola renaissance. Day 1 is taking place live from Luanda, Angola, where the Mightiest Prophet will be preaching."
Photos shared by individuals in Angola showed a massive crowd awaiting Owuor's arrival in style.
