On a recent visit to Marsabit County, the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) Board assessed the region's security preparedness and accountability procedures as the country approaches the general elections.
Chairperson Anne Makori led the team, which included a courtesy call on the Marsabit Multi-Agency Security team at the County Headquarters, led by the County Commissioner.
During the meeting, the team explored strategies to sustain a positive police-public partnership, focusing on initiatives that would enhance the security and safety of Marsabit County residents.
Chairperson Makori commended the security team for their exemplary performance, particularly in protecting life and property, and assured them of her support as long as they operate within the law.
County Commissioner thanked Chairperson Makori for her visit and pledged that the security team would continue working tirelessly to restore peace and security in the County.
Regional IPOA Eastern Coordinator also conducted meetings with the Quick Response Unit (QRU), Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU), and Anti-Stock Theft (ASTU) to discuss restoring public confidence in policing operations through professionalism and adherence to the rule of law.
