HMD Launches Nokia 2.2 in Kenya ¶
On July 17, 2019, HMD Global announced the launch of the Nokia 2.2 in Kenya, a smartphone that brings sophisticated AI-powered low-light imaging and Google Assistant at an affordable price.
The Nokia 2.2 is the first 2 series Nokia smartphone to be part of the Android One programme, delivering the latest full Android experience on a modern 5.7” screen with a discreet selfie-notch.
Commenting on the launch, Gopher Ogembo, HMD Senior Business Manager East Africa, said, “We believe that the latest and greatest innovations in the industry should be available for everyone. With the Nokia 2.2, we’ve brought the pinnacle of AI experiences to more people than ever before.”
The Nokia 2.2 features AI-powered low-light image fusion, which takes detailed photos even in trickier low-light conditions. The camera snaps multiple images simultaneously and through advanced algorithms creates a single image with more light, greater detail and less noise.
The smartphone also offers HDR photography, which captures vivid colours with greater dynamic range in every shot. Additionally, fans get access to the latest tech trends with “face unlock” and Google Lens.
The Nokia 2.2 is available in Tungsten Black, ranging from Ksh10,200, and comes in a 2/16GB ROM/RAM variant. It will be available in both Safaricom and open channel markets.
