However, it was Marcus Rashford who stole the show with a moment of magic in the 27th minute, dribbling past the Leeds defence and expertly tapping the ball past goalkeeper Kiko Casilla.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made significant changes to his lineup at half-time, but United continued to dictate the pace of the game.
Phil Jones scored a thumping header from a corner kick in the 51st minute, and Anthony Martial rounded out the scoring with a penalty in the 68th minute.
