On July 17, 2019, Safaricom unveiled BLAZE Link, an innovative e-learning platform designed to empower Kenyan youth with skills and knowledge to succeed in their chosen professions.
BLAZE Link is an aggregator of e-learning resources that offers free online courses, job opportunities, and market insights to entrepreneurs. The platform aims to bridge the skills gap among young people in Kenya, enabling them to pursue their passions and become their own bosses or secure employment.
BLAZE Link has partnered with renowned organizations such as Google, IBM, Wezesha, Cloud Factory, and Brighter Monday to provide thousands of free online courses across various disciplines, including sales and marketing, finance, agriculture, creative arts, programming, and development.
According to Michael Joseph, Safaricom's acting CEO, BLAZE Link is a new addition to the Be Your Own Boss (BYOB) platform, which focuses on empowering the youth as they journey towards success. 'BLAZE Link is a career compass and job-finder that will empower Kenyan youth by linking them with skills that they require to be successful,' he said.
BLAZE Link users will also have exclusive access to master class videos from Kenyan artists and businessmen on topics such as agribusiness, creative arts, fashion, film and photography, music, technology, and production and sales.
