On July 17, 2019, Anne Kiguta, a veteran Kenyan journalist, announced her return to prime time TV with a new show on K24, a Mediamax Limited-owned broadcaster.

After a long sabbatical, Kiguta will now anchor news and conduct interviews on Sundays at 9:00 pm on K24, a move that is expected to shake up the TV landscape in Kenya.

Her new show, Punchline, is a prime time program that will feature in-depth interviews and discussions on current affairs, a format that is reminiscent of her previous shows at Citizen TV, including Monday Special and Opinion Court.

Kiguta, who has been off the screen since leaving Citizen TV in October 2018, has been a subject of speculation about her whereabouts and next move. However, it appears that she has found a new home at K24, where she will join a pool of experienced anchors, including Eric Njoka, Betty Kyalo, and Anjlee Gadhvi.

With her extensive experience in handling high-profile interviews and her star power, Kiguta is expected to bring a new level of excitement and competition to K24, which has been struggling to compete with traditional powerhouses Citizen TV, KTN, and NTV.

Her return to prime time TV is a significant development in the Kenyan media landscape, and it will be interesting to see how she performs in her new role.
