Esther Arunga's ex-fiancé, Wilson Malaba, was on the receiving end of defamatory text messages from Joseph Hellon in 2011, during the height of the Finger of God scandal.
Malaba subsequently sued Hellon, leading to a public apology from the latter.
According to Hellon's apology statement, the text message accused Wilson of 'killing my child, wanting to sacrifice Esther through a road accident, having a wife and two kids in south B and many other details.'
However, in a bid to make amends, Hellon asked Malaba to withdraw the case he had filed against him in the Kibera Law Courts.
He also promised to use his public influence to correct the negative image created against Malaba and to reveal the source of the problems.
Furthermore, Hellon absolved Malaba of any blame or wrongdoing, stating that the allegations were baseless and came from a source he had already exposed to the public.
