Published on July 17, 2019, Lil Wayne's highly anticipated album 'Tha Crater V' finally saw the light of day in 2018, after years of legal disputes with Cash Money Records. The rapper has since been back in the music scene, and it seems he's back to his old ways, with another album on the horizon.

Entitled 'Funeral', the new album is set to feature collaborations with Lil Baby, Big Sean, and more. Lil Wayne has been teasing the project since March, years after he first announced it on a skateboarding podcast in 2016.

Speaking to XXL magazine, Lil Wayne elaborated on the album and the creative process behind it. He revealed that he chose to collaborate with Lil Baby after being impressed by the young rapper's voice and melodies. 'I loved his voice at first and it kinda reminded me of me when I was younger,' Lil Wayne said. 'And then his melodies and stuff started getting at me. So that's what it was. And then I started actually listening to what he's saying and he talks about the struggle a lot and he's talking about some real stuff.'

It's worth noting that Lil Wayne has had a tumultuous past, including walking off stage during a tour with American rock band Blink 182. However, he later clarified that he wasn't quitting the tour, and instead, was just having too much fun with his 'bros'.
