Football fans and leaders from across the country have gathered at the Friends International Centre Church along Ngong Road in Nairobi for the requiem mass of Joe Kadenge, a football legend who died 10 days ago at the age of 84.
Published on July 17, 2019, Kadenge's distinguished service to Kenyan football as a player and later team manager of the national football team, Harambee Stars, has been remembered by many.
Leaders present at the service include ODM leader Raila Odinga, Ford Kenya boss Moses Wetangula, Kiminini Member of Parliament Chris Wamalwa, and Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris.
Yesterday, Raila led a fundraiser at Charter Hall in Nairobi, where over Sh4.5 million was raised towards offsetting funeral expenses.
Tomorrow, Kadenge's body will be airlifted to Bukhungu Stadium ahead of the burial ceremony set for Saturday in Gisambai, Hamisi constituency in Vihiga County.
