Deputy President William Ruto's alleged assassination plot has taken a new twist with Lugari MP Ayub Savula denying any involvement in the matter.
Addressing journalists in Kakamega, Savula stated that he has never commented on the assassination saga, as he was not present at the purported meeting and does not conduct investigations.
He dismissed reports that he was among Ruto's allies demanding the court to admit an audio-video recording as evidence in the alleged assassination plot.
“I have at no single incident discussed with the Deputy President on matters of the alleged assassination and the audio-video recording, let Ruto deal with DCI and tell the investigators the truth of the matter,” Savula argued.
He emphasized that politicians must heed President Uhuru Kenyatta's advice to shelve early campaigns and focus on serving the people.
According to Savula, Ruto must be prepared to deal with the DCI so that Kenyans can know the truth if found to have given false information, he (Ruto) should be prosecuted and if there is some truth, those implicated must face full force of the law,” he said.
It is worth noting that last week, a section of lawmakers from Western demanded the court to admit the audio-video recording as part of evidence in the alleged assassination plot.
