On the eve of the 2021 Ugandan elections, Bobi Wine, the country's popular musician and politician, has spoken out about the regime's intentions towards him.
According to Wine, the persistent call for 'people's power' has made President Yoweri Museveni very uncomfortable.
"There has never been a threat to this regime like the threat we pose to it today as a generation," Bobi Wine said in an interview with The Associated Press on July 17, 2019.
Wine, who has been a vocal critic of the regime, has also expressed his concerns about his own safety, stating, "I am not blind to the fact that the regime wants me dead and wants me dead as soon as possible."
Despite these threats, Wine has announced his intention to run against President Museveni in the upcoming elections, saying, "We know that the regime is going to try anything within their reach to block us from contesting."
