On Arsenal's pre-season tour of America, midfielder Mesut Ozil made headlines with a drastic change in his appearance - a new bleach blonde hairstyle.
Earlier in the week, Arsenal defeated Colorado Rapids 3-0 in their first warm-up game of the summer, with Ozil playing only the last 12 minutes of the game.
Photos of Ozil's new look have spread on social media, and the jokes have followed, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leading the banter brigade.
Aubameyang joked that Ozil now resembles Megan Rapinoe, who won the Golden Boot at the 2019 World Cup with the US Women's national team.
However, Arsenal fans were less kind to their star man, citing his below-par performances last season.
When asked about his new look, Ozil revealed that he dyed his hair because of an agreement with Alexandre Lacazette.
"I lost a bet," Ozil said. "We lost a bet against Laca. Me, Sead [Kolasinac] and Shkodran Mustafi all lost together," he added.
