On July 17, 2019, Ian Munene, popularly known as Almasi, marked a significant milestone in his life by graduating from the University of Kent in the UK.

The University of Kent not only provided Ian with a quality education but also a platform where he could express himself freely, something he couldn't do during his younger years.

As Ian shared in a previous blog post, he struggled with self-expression during his childhood, often holding back his true feelings due to fear of what others might think. He was bullied in primary school, which further exacerbated the issue.

However, Ian has always acknowledged his uniqueness and has been open about his experiences. In a blog post, he confessed, 'Being a guy with feminine attributes comes with its fair share of negative comments, people always trying to put you down by calling you names and spreading rumours and shit. This stuff affected me so much when I was younger.'

Despite the challenges he faced, Ian persevered and has now achieved a significant milestone in his life. He joins other celebrities like Jannetta Nyamu and Lillian Ng'ang'a, who graduated in 2019. Jannetta graduated from Daystar University with a Diploma in Business, while Lillian graduated with a Master's of Science degree in Project Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).
