Published on July 17, 2019, a dramatic turn of events has unfolded in the ongoing Esther Arunga/Quincy Timberlake murder trial in Australia.
Esther Arunga has confessed to lying to protect her husband, Quincy Timberlake, who is accused of killing their son in a botched exorcism.
Arunga appeared in court and pleaded guilty to accessory to manslaughter, admitting to perjury in her previous statements.
However, Timberlake's mother, Rosemeg Wambita, has come out in defense of her son, denying Arunga's claims and questioning her motives.
In an interview with Nation, Wambita stated, "That is a lie [Esther Arunga's confession]. I don’t understand what she means since she is the one who said that their son did not die at the hands of her husband. Where was she all this time? This is peculiar to me. It is a lie. I don’t understand it."
Wambita also questioned Arunga's decision to live with Timberlake, asking, "If my son is a murderer, why did she accept to live with a killer?"
