On May 17, 2022, Trans-Nation Sacco announced plans to officially launch two branches in Marsabit County, marking a significant expansion of its services to customers in the region.
The Sacco's Chairman, Mr. Bedford Miriti Mutegi, made the announcement during the society's 27th Annual General Meeting held at Mwalimu Park in Chuka town.
According to Mutegi, the decision to establish branches in Marsabit and Moyale towns was driven by the success of the Sacco's existing branch in Isiolo, which has seen a significant increase in membership and services.
"We are in the process of venturing into the sixth county (Marsabit) by establishing a branch in both Marsabit and Moyale towns. This will put smiles on the faces of many of our members who travel a long distance to access the services at Isiolo town," said Mutegi.
With the new branches, Trans-Nation Sacco aims to bring its services closer to its members, who will no longer have to travel long distances to access them. The Sacco has also established over 40 Sacco agents across its branch networks, further expanding its reach.
"The year 2019 saw the Sacco roll out agency banking in all its areas of operation. This service has enabled us to reach areas that are a challenge to the establishment of a branch," said Mutegi, highlighting the success of the Sacco's agency banking initiative.
