11 Suspects Freed on Cash Bail in Nyali Pornography Case

Published on July 16, 2019, eleven suspects arrested for allegedly shooting porn movies in Nyali, Mombasa County, were released on cash bail after denying the charges in court.

Appearing before Shanzu Law Courts Principal Magistrate Florence Maina, the suspects were released on various bonds and cash bail amounts. Nine women were released on a bond of Ksh.50,000 and surety of a similar amount or a cash bail of Ksh.20,000.

The remaining two suspects, Enock Elisha Ochieng and Mercelline Atieno Onyango, were accused of being the proprietors of an online web cam service used to conduct the business. They were freed on a bond of Ksh.100,000 and surety of a similar amount or a cash bail of Ksh.50,000.

The case was set for mentioning on July 30 and hearing on November 25, 2019. The suspects were arrested on Friday last week during a raid in a house in Nyali where 16 laptops, cameras, mobile phones, flash disks, and sex dolls were discovered.
