Published on July 16, 2019, the Ministry of Transport has confirmed that demolitions along the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) corridor were ordered by the Cabinet.

The demolitions, which have seen several houses brought down, were necessary to pave the way for the construction of the multi-billion shilling project.

The project, which is 98 percent complete, is set to be launched by the end of August by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
