Matthijs de Ligt, the 19-year-old Ajax captain, is set to fly to Turin on Tuesday to finalize his transfer to Juventus.

The Italian champions are reportedly willing to pay £67.5m (Sh8.64 billion) for the talented defender, who led Ajax to the Champions League semi-finals last season.

De Ligt, who has also been linked with Manchester United, Barcelona, and Paris-St Germain, has had a remarkable rise through the ranks at Ajax, where he won the Eredivisie and the Dutch Cup in his three seasons.

He made his debut for the Netherlands in March 2017, despite having started just two league games for Ajax at the time, and went on to score the winning goal against Juventus to send Ajax through to the Champions League semi-finals.

De Ligt became Ajax's youngest captain in March 2018 and has since established himself as one of the top young defenders in the world.
