On Tuesday evening, Chipu head coach Paul Odera is expected to name the squad to face Japan in their third match of the World Rugby Under-20 Trophy championship in Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil.
Kenya's Chipu team has four injury concerns ahead of the match, including Andrew Siminyu from Hillcrest School in South Africa, Michele Brighetti from Sedbergh, and Jeff Mutuku and Douglas Kahuri from Kenya Harlequins.
According to Odera, who is also the Simba's head coach, the team is waiting for a late medical assessment for each of the players before making a decision on their availability.
Odera stated that the team's tactics will be determined by the availability or absence of the injured players.
After watching Japan's games, Odera believes that Chipu will have to close them down early and fast.
Chipu won their first match in the tourney over the weekend, narrowly beating host Brazil 26-24.
'The mood in the camp has been lifted significantly and the belief in each other and the systems has returned, so the win is a definite plus,' Odera said.
Japan tops their pool after defeating 2008 champions 46-31, while Kenya lost their opener 63-11 against Uruguay.
The match against Japan will be played on Wednesday from 11 pm (EAT).
