Kenyan musician and social justice advocate Juliani has been at the center of a recent controversy surrounding his alleged appointment as the Director of Entertainment in the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party.
On May 10th, 2022, Juliani issued a statement denying the reports, stating that he had not received any official communication on the alleged appointment.
He emphasized that he is not affiliated with any political party, coalition, or alliance, but expressed his willingness to collaborate with like-minded partners, including political parties with a clear manifesto and agenda focusing on sustainable youth empowerment initiatives.
Juliani also urged Kenyans to use wisdom when electing leaders, rather than being swayed by handouts, and discouraged politicians from exploiting the youth for their own gain.
His statement comes after reports of the alleged appointment emerged on May 9th, 2022, following Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua's decision to leave the Azimio coalition and join Deputy President William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
