Published on July 16, 2019, the National Sevens Circuit is set to kick off with the Kakamega Sevens leg this weekend at the Kakamega Bull Ring.
Nakuru RFC, led by head coach Mitch Ocholla, is in Pool D alongside Kenya Harlequins, Strathmore Leos, and Egerton Wasps.
Ocholla is confident that his team is well-prepared to top the pool, citing their experience against Wasps and the fact that Quins and Leos have been champions.
‘We won’t take anyone lightly in the pool stages since Quins and Leos have been champions, and we have also played against Wasps so we have to work hard to top our pool so as to qualify for the main cup quarter finals,’ Ocholla said.
Despite finishing second in the Embu Sevens, Ocholla believes his team is well-prepared and just needs to adjust their systems and mentality to win.
‘The Wanyores’ have won the National Sevens Circuit only once in 2015, and Ocholla is determined to help his team reclaim the title they won four years ago.
