Published on July 16, 2019, Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji has been holding consultative meetings with ambassadors of various western countries to discuss cooperation and collaboration in the fight against corruption.
According to officials aware of the meetings, Haji has been asking the envoys to help Kenya recover money believed to have been stolen and stashed in their countries.
He has also requested the officials to work out ways of restricting those targeted for corruption cases from traveling abroad.
"DPP to share a list of persons charged with corruption with a view to restricting them from traveling to those countries," Haji said after a meeting with some of the envoys.
As part of the efforts, Haji and his team have been visiting various countries where dirty money is believed to be. They recently arrived in Dubai for a similar mission.
Some countries like the UK are cooperating well and have frozen money believed to be stolen in some government officials' accounts.
The teams have been visiting various foreign countries in a push for cooperation and collaboration in the war on corruption.
