On July 13, 2019, a police officer was transferred to Elwak in Mandera, but he was still in Kakamega three days later, where he allegedly committed a heinous crime.

The officer, who was supposed to be in Mandera, was accused of kissing a 7-year-old boy, the son of a colleague, at the Kakamega police line.

The boy's mother was awakened by her niece, who informed her that her son had been taken by the officer.

The mother raised an alarm, and neighbours arrested the policeman and locked him up in a cell.

According to the boy, the officer took him to his house upstairs within the block and started kissing him on his lips.
