On July 13, 2019, a police officer was transferred to Mandera, but he was still in Kakamega three days later, where he allegedly kissed a 7-year-old boy, the son of his colleague.

The boy's mother was awakened by her niece, who informed her that her son had been taken by the officer.

The mother raised an alarm, and neighbours arrested the policeman and locked him up in a cell at the Kakamega police line.

According to the boy, the officer took him to his house upstairs within the block and started kissing him on his lips.
