Jubilee candidates in Nakuru have thrown their weight behind Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga, expressing confidence in his chances in the August polls.
Leading the pack are Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui and Bahati parliamentary candidate Irene Njoki, who have promised to marshal enough support for the Coalition.
During a strategy meeting with Odinga, the candidates vowed to hold more consultative meetings and launch serious pro-Raila campaigns.
"We are confident that we are going to deliver and we should not lose sight of our main goal which is to win the presidency," Governor Kinyanjui said.
Irene Njoki, a leading contender for the Bahati Parliamentary seat, noted that there is a growing sense of belief among voters that Raila will win.
"We are getting better and the confidence is there for us to win," she said.
Njoki called on women voters in the country to rally behind Raila Odinga.
Nakuru West MP Samuel Arama told Odinga not to be intimidated by assertions that the Mt Kenya region will not vote for him.
"I am a Kisii and I get elected here so be sure that you’re going to get votes that you have never received before," Arama said.
The Nakuru team is targeting to win at least 60% of the seats in the county.
