July 16, 2019, marked a confusing time for Vera Sidika fans as they witnessed her undergo a dramatic transformation from a light-skinned woman to a dark-skinned one, only to return to her original porcelain doll look.
The transformation was the work of talented makeup artist Miss Keysha, who has also worked with notable clients such as Anerlisa Muigai and Sharon Mwangi.
Miss Keysha was thrilled with her work, stating, "Honestly I wasn’t sure if could pull this off but... ooh well.. y’all don’t call me Keysha the TRANSFORMER for nothing," in a post on her Instagram page.
Contrary to speculation that Vera Sidika had used tanning to achieve her new look, a post on Vera Sidika Beauty Parlor’s page confirmed that the transformation was achieved through professional makeup.
According to Vera, she underwent the transformation to feel more like herself after five years of being light-skinned.
"I feel like my body is my business. I said that when the whole things started. It has been 5 years, it has been an amazing journey and I wanted something different so I got to a point that I just wanted to be me," Vera said in an interview.
