Published on July 16, 2019, The Standard reported that the Building Bridges Initiative task force had made recommendations to President Uhuru Kenyatta and AU High Representative for Infrastructure Raila Odinga. However, the BBI team has since rubbished these claims.

BBI Chair Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji stated that the reports are fake, as the team is still collecting views from Kenyans. The team has visited 39 counties and plans to cover the remaining ones before the end of the month.

Speaking at Nairobi's Intercontinental hotel, BBI Vice-Chair Adams Oloo emphasized that the findings of the final report will not be influenced by what is said on political rallies but on the views of a majority of Kenyans.
