On April 24, 2022, the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results for 2021 were released, revealing Kapsabet High School as the top-performing high school in the country.
The school achieved a remarkable mean score of 10.688, surpassing its previous year's score of 10.5. Notably, all 461 students who sat for the KCSE exams at Kapsabet High attained the minimum university qualifying grade of C+ (plus) and above.
Among the students, 104 candidates scored straight A grades, while 191 others scored a mean grade of A- (minus). Additionally, 99 students scored B+ (plus), 54 scored B (plain), 12 scored B- (minus), and one student scored C+ (plus).
Kenya High School came in second, with 64 students scoring As, 130 A-, 70 B+, 36 B, 18 B-, 12 C+, one C, and one C-. Alliance Girls took third place, with 59 candidates scoring A plain and 126 scoring A-.
Other top performers included Kagumo High School in Nyeri County, which recorded a mean score of 9.78 and produced 40 candidates with straight As. Light Academy in Nairobi posted a mean score of 9.61, with 22 students scoring As.
