Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has welcomed Christian Pulisic's decision to return to the team ahead of schedule, joining them in Dublin, Ireland for their preseason tour.
After representing the US national team in the Gold Cup tournament, Pulisic was initially set to take a break before linking up with his new teammates. However, he has chosen to cut short his holiday and join the team, which is currently in Dublin, Ireland.
Speaking on Sunday evening, Lampard revealed that Pulisic will join the team on Tuesday and take part in the remainder of the tour.
"Christian joins us on Tuesday, he's had a short break, but he wanted to get back with us quickly, which I certainly appreciate," Lampard told Goal.
"It's a big move for him to a huge club. He's a top young player. He's only going to go one way in terms of his career – he's going to go up and be a big signing for Chelsea. I hope so. I look forward to working with him," Lampard added.
With Chelsea set to start the season, Lampard emphasized the importance of a strong start, particularly with injuries and key players returning to training.
