On a typical day, hustlers face new challenges, never knowing when their next customer will arrive. Despite the uncertainty, they continue to hustle, driven by their determination to provide a better life for their children.
While professionals in big firms may view hustlers as inferior, they would do well to recognize the value that hustlers bring to the economy. With 83% of jobs in Kenya created by hustlers, their economic power cannot be overstated.
Moreover, hustlers are major consumers of goods and services, keeping the economy humming. They also have a strong support system, with chamas and other social organizations providing a safety net for those in need.
As XN Iraki notes, 'Hustlers are to be pitied, but they should also be admired.' Their resilience and ingenuity are qualities that professionals in big firms can only aspire to.
