ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi has dismissed rumors of a potential alliance with William Ruto ahead of the 2022 elections, stating that it is a 'pipe dream'.
Speaking to Citizen TV's Hussein Mohammed, Mudavadi emphasized that he could never work with Ruto, describing the idea as far-fetched and unlikely to come to fruition in his lifetime.
"How would it occur? It will not occur. Ruto cannot be anybody's running mate in 2022. I can never work with him. That is a pipe dream, let's close that chapter," Mudavadi said.
On a different note, Mudavadi expressed his support for proposals to amend the constitution ahead of 2022, citing the need for a united country and reduced taxpayer burden due to corruption in public offices.
He also called out high-ranking state officials implicated in corruption to step aside and allow investigations to clear their names.
"The president of this country is the commander-in-chief of the defense forces. If he has appointed you and calls you, saying there are issues in your docket, what do you do? You quit. We are lowering the standards of integrity in this country," Mudavadi stated.
