The 13th edition of Routes Africa, an intra-Africa routes development forum, is set to take place in Mombasa from December 8th to 10th, 2019.
Organized by Routes, the event will be held at the PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort and Convention Centre in Shanzu, Mombasa, and has attracted over 250 delegates from across the globe.
The conference program will feature airline CEOs and C-Suite speakers discussing the future of aviation in Africa and pressing industry issues.
ASM Global will deliver its Route Development Accreditation course, providing attendees with tools to attract new routes and increase existing services.
Delegates will benefit from a certification of attendance.
According to Ann Peggy, General Manager of PrideInn Paradise, everything is in place to stage the congress, which comes a year after the resort hosted the international SKAL world congress.
The growth in conference tourism in Mombasa and Kenya indicates a huge potential for this segment in contributing to the tourism sector.
Kenya's Meeting Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) sector is on a major growth path globally, and the country is enjoying the benefits from this market to the economy and enhancing its brand equity.
Mr. Hasnain Noorani, PrideInn MD, emphasized the need to exploit this opportunity to grow and make the destination attractive for more mega conferences.
Kenya continues to position itself as a key meetings and conference destination in Africa, with its strategic proximity to Europe, Asia, the Middle East, the Americas, and the rest of Africa making it a profitable MICE destination.
Routes Africa 2019 will be facilitated by Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) and supported by other Kenyan organizations, including the Kenya Tourism Board, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, and Kenya Wildlife Services.
