On July 15, 2019, Xiaomi marked a significant milestone in its expansion into Sub-Saharan Africa with the opening of its first Mi Home store in Kenya.

The store, located in Nairobi, drew a large and enthusiastic crowd, with customers queuing up to purchase a wide range of Xiaomi products.

Among the products available at the store were earphones, wireless charges, Bluetooth speakers, smart bulbs, extension cables, Xiaomi laptops, casual bags, thermostats, rice cookers, humidifiers, air cleaners, robot vacuum cleaners, and phones, including the Mi 9, Redmi Note 7, and Redmi Go.

However, some customers were disappointed to find that certain products, such as the Mi Band 4, Mi Box S, and Mi Pad 4, were not available at the store.

According to Xiaomi, these products will be available at the store by the end of the week, pending importation issues.

The company has also announced plans to open two more Mi Home stores in Nairobi by September, one in the CBD and the other in Westlands, as well as a service centre for customer care issues in the CBD.

This expansion is a significant step forward for Xiaomi in Kenya, and it is expected to improve customer experience and provide better warranty services for customers.
