On July 14, 2019, in Kapsabet, during a funds drive, Aden Duale, the National Assembly leader of Majority, made a bold statement about Deputy President William Ruto's presidential ambitions.

According to Duale, Ruto will not only be the Jubilee party presidential candidate in 2022 but will also clinch the presidency, come rain or shine.

“Come 2022 God willing Jubilee party will only have one presidential candidate that is the deputy president of the Republic of Kenya William Ruto and come rain come sunshine he will clinch the presidency,” Duale said.

He added that those trying to deny Ruto the presidency through the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga will not succeed, as Ruto has the party's support and President Kenyatta has promised to serve his 10 years and Ruto's 10 years.

Garissa Township MP Aden Duale downplayed reports of division within the Jubilee camp, terming it as propaganda by the opposition to tarnish the ruling party's reputation.

“I want to state categorically that Jubilee party is intact and there is no division whatsoever,” he declared.

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago and Nandi Governor Stephen Sang echoed Duale's sentiments, reaffirming their support for Ruto's presidential bid.
